This in stylish purse was HAND MADE in a small village on the banks of a volcanic lake in Guatemala. It was constructed using 100% RECYCLED natural cotton material from traditional garments known as corte & guipile. Each piece of fabric is from a different tribe so each bag is unique. We recycle this material from discarded traditional Mayan women's clothing. The patterns are not only beautiful but they actually serve a purpose. The women's unique patterns on their garments identify their specific region of Guatemala. The Mayans tell their own unique stories within their fabric patterns.
