What is meant by the statement "Advocates of Fair Trade"?

Gypsy Rose is many things but at its heart it is a bridge that connects people all over the world, including the USA, by supporting cottage industries, small family businesses, traditional artisans and fair wages for workers. Thousands of people benefit from jobs producing and selling our products. Supporting these small businesses helps to keep the traditional artisan practices alive and appreciated worldwide.  Our mission to find & design kind gear that is fairly produced starts with small cottage industry crafters in Nepal, Thailand & Guatemala. We consider an item to be fairly produced if workers are of legal and appropriate age to be working, that working conditions are safe & workers are paid wages that are average or above based on their country’s economy. We offer assistance to any artisan group that needs it so that they can buy materials and pay workers without having to take out loans. We do what we can to ensure these businesses can keep doing what they do for many more years to come.

 

 

 

How do we choose our manufacturers?
Carefully!  We have high standards for the quality of our garments.  We strive to produce a unique
and functional product that will stand the test of time.  We follow the guidelines we set
for ourselves listed above.



Do you have an actual store?
No, we did have a store in Santa Cruz, California a while back.  The online store and our
seasonal catalogs are the way we share our kind goods throughout the world.



Where is Gypsy Rose located?
In the beautiful state of Pennsylvania for over 30 years.  We are nestled just outside of
Philadelphia in Bucks County.



What are your business hours?
Monday through Friday 9am-6pm EST.
We have longer days & weekend hours throughout the Thanksgiving & Christmas Holidays.


There are no size choices for a particular item. What does the term "Free Size" mean?
Free size or "One size fits all" is an early hippie bohemian concept that incorporates a loose
comfortable garment that can fit many different size people - often making use of tie back straps to snug the garment to the body or elastic waist bands etc.  As the world changes, we are currently migrating away from that as many of our items are now offered in popular sizes.



The color choice I'm looking for isn't listed as a choice or there are no choices what can I do?
If you're looking for something specific call or e-mail customer service. They'll let you know
what is available and try to get you exactly what you are looking for.  Many items come in random multi color assortments & patterns that do not lend themselves easily to a simple one or two word color "choice".  But if you list your favorites as well as your dislikes when you order then we will try get something nice for you. Please list actual color choices rather than the phrase "like the picture" or "as pictured". Our images are designed to show you the general flow and feel of the items but our suppliers may send us different colors and patterns with each shipment.



Do I have to create an account?
No, you do not have to create an account. You do not need a username or password to place orders or to visit our website & browse & select items. When you place your order you will be prompted whether or not you want to create an account and will take you through the steps. To order on our website as a guest just ignore that “login” link on the top right & do not click it at all. Place your items you wish to order in the cart. When finished go to your cart & check it carefully. Then click the red box that states “PROCEED TO CHECKOUT”. Fill out all billing address information first and IGNORE the statement & check box that asks “WOULD YOU LIKE TO CREATE AN ACCOUNT WITH US”. Just leave that box unchecked & proceed by clicking the red box that states “CONTINUE WITH ORDER”. Then you can either enter a separate ship to address if desired OR just click “SHIP TO THIS ADDRESS”. Then proceed with the prompts & enter credit/debit card info etc.

Anywhere in the world & at the most reasonable shipping rates around!

Can I add on to my order?
We will definitely try our best to help you.  A quick phone call or e-mail to our customer service reps may allow you to add on to an existing order. But please call us as soon as you can, thanks!

 

How is my package being shipped?
Most packages will be shipped via US Postal Service Priority Mail unless other arrangements are made.  You may wish to confirm your exact shipping address according to US Postal Service on their website in the "Look Up A Zip Code" function. Please type in your shipping address exactly as it should appear according to US Postal Service.  Please check the address information that you enter into the billing and shipping address fields very carefully before completing your checkout on our site. We may occasionally use several reliable carriers including and not limited to USPS, UPS & Fedex. For rush orders we recommending placing your order by phone 1-888-304-9779 MON-FRI 9am to 6pm EST (SEE BELOW *).

 

How do I track my order?
If you would like to be emailed the tracking number please include that in your comment section of your order.  Or contact customer service and provide them with your information.  Please allow some time before checking up on your order.  We usually receive your website order printout the NEXT BUSINESS DAY AFTER YOU PLACE IT ONLINE.  After that we usually ship it out within 1-2 more business days.



What is your return policy?
In effort to serve our customers fairly, Gypsy Rose has a 30 day return policy on all items.
If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase please return any unwanted merchandise within 30 days of your date of receipt in same condition as received (not worn, not washed, not used, not exposed to strong odors, smoke or animal hairs, etc).

Just return your item to Gypsy Rose along with the completed 'return form' that is enclosed with your order.  You can choose to make an exchange order, get a gift certificate or get a refund.  If you choose to receive a refund then we will refund you for the price of the merchandise returned less original shipping.  We will refund the payment card that you used originally.

Please note that we can only accept items that were ordered directly through Gypsy Rose. We apologize for the inconvenience but we cannot accept items that were purchased through a different business.

How can I cancel an order?
We hope you never want to cancel an order but on the outside chance it happens please call or e-mail us immediately.  We would need to hear from you right away though.  Otherwise, within 24 hours it will be on its way to you.


How do I order my free gifts?
When you checkout in the cart you will be prompted to choose an item from the appropriate value
category ($50-$100-$150-$200+). Gifts may be chosen from lower value categories but sorry... only one free gift per order.  Gypsy Rose may substitute your free gift for another if it is unavailable.  Please note that free gifts may not be returned or exchanged.  But we hope that you will give them a good home!



*How do I place a rush on an order? Can I have it shipped overnight?
We'll do everything to get your order to you when you need it.  But please note that overnight or 2 day shipping can be extremely expensive.  We can only do special services like "overnight" if you order over the phone.  Call to place your rush order or you can try to e-mail us immediately after your order is placed.  But we cannot guarantee that we will still be able to rush the order so that is why we recommend phoning in any rush orders.  If you don't hear back shortly thereafter CALL US!



What is the difference between Billing Address and Shipping Address?
Your billing adress is the address that your payment card's issuing bank has on file for you.  This is your address where you recieve the bills from the bank (or the address that you used to register the card originally if you do not receive paper statements).  Your shipping address is where you want the package to go.  If you do not provide the correct billing address at the time your order is placed your transaction may be declined.  Please confirm your exact billing address before ordering. 



How do I order a gift certificate?
Follow the link on the home page to order a gift certificate.  With the new system you can purchase an electronic gift certificate that can be redeemed online immediately by the giftee - great for last minute gifts!  But please be sure to provide the correct email address of the recipient if ordering an electronic gift certificate.
